Ellie is in surgery right now. I’m not there and I have butterflies in my tummy. I can only imagine how her mom and dad are doing!
Ellie’s dad called me a while ago to let me know things were going okay.

Her mom got to go into the operating room with her and talk to her until Ellie fell asleep under anesthesia.
All the medical team Ellie has seen in the last few days have emphasized yet again what a good candidate she is for this SDR surgery. It should be a huge change in her being able to walk after this (after therapy has helped retrain her muscles of course).
For now it’s a matter of waiting and praying, while the neurosurgeon works to fill Ellie’s request, “Is it okay if you fix my legs?”
