Here’s a picture of little Miss Ellie after the SDR surgery was over, she got out of the recovery room (or whatever they call it these days!), and finally into her room.
As might be expected, she’s feeling some pain, and they’re giving her medication to help that. It makes her sleepy, but she fights the sleep.
But the first major hurdle is done; the surgery is over!

There’s not a doubt in the world it’s a scary thing when your child is undergoing major surgery! But Ellie is doing good! The first couple of days were a little rough, but since then she’s been progressing steadily. Be sure to check out her mom’s blog about Ellie’s surgery and therapy at Ellie’s Footsteps. Obviously, she is closer to the situation and has more details about what’s been happening!
Ellie is doing well… so hang on to the fact YOUR children will likely do well also!
